11pm on a Friday night, 50 minutes southwest of Raleigh in the town of Sanford, where the most excitement revolves around the recent grand opening of the community's first Applebee's, 4 old men sit around a wooden table in the Hampton Inn lobby playing poker in oblivion of their environs.

Your description isn't that far from our Cornell days. Remember all the excitement we experienced with the opening of Chili's? Replace "Hampton Inn" with "Oak Ave" and "playing poker" with "mixing drinks," and you have a very familiar story on hand...
